"My Lord, who can understand the cause of Your appearance other than You Yourself. You incarnate Yourself to teach religious principles to all and thus make the earth glorious." [Sri Caitanya-bhagavata, Adi-khanda 2.158 & 160]

"Indeed His effulgence is like the brilliance of a million suns. Nor have I ever heard Krishna's Name chanted so melodiously. I have never before seen such ecstatic love, nor heard the vibration of the Holy Name of the Lord chanted in such an ecstatic way, nor seen such dancing during sankirtan." [Sri Caitanya-caritamrta, Madhya-lila 11.95-96]

"My dear King, when Krishna's devotees dance in kirtan, they destroy the inauspiciousness of the earth by the touch of their feet, the directions of their glance, and the higher planetary systems by their upraised arms." [Padma Purana cited in the Hari Bhakti-Sudhodaya 20.68]

"I take shelter of divine lotus feet, the toes of which resemble campaka buds. Oh! Merciful Lord, show Your divine mercy to me as I bow down unto You. By the mirror like illumination of the rows of Your divine beautiful toenails, the splendor of a multiple of rubies is defeated. I plead for refuge at Your merciful lotus feet. Oh! Lord I offer most humble obeisances unto Your divine lotus feet." [Sri Caitanya Sataka, Srila Sarvabhauma Bhattacarya, vs 71-72]

"Lord Nityananda is full of transcendental mellows. His name and form are non-different. Simply seeing Him captivates all living entities. Even the atheists would immediately offer prayers to Nityananda as soon as they saw Him. They at once wanted to offer everything to Him. The body of Nityananda svarupa is sweet and most attractive. He generously bestows mercy on everyone. Whether eating, sleeping or traveling, He did not waste a moment without doing nama-sankirtan. Wherever Nityananda did sankirtana and danced in ecstasy, He captivated hundreds of people." [Sri Nityananda Caritamrta, Antya-lila, ch 5, Srila Vrndavan Dasa Thakura]

"Oh Vaisnava! To see you is the perfection of the eyes. To touch your holy feet is the perfection of the body. To vibrate your holy qualities is the perfection of the tongue, for it is very rare to find a pure devotee within this world." [Hari-Bhakti-Sudhodaya 13.2]

"A completely pure saintly person is just like water because he is free from all contamination, gentle by nature and by speaking creates a beautiful vibration like that of flowing water. Just by seeing, touching or hearing such a saintly person the living entity is purified, just as one is cleansed by contact with pure water. Thus a saintly person, just like a holy place purifies all those who contact him because he always chants the glories of the Supreme Lord, Sri Krishna." [Srimad Bhagavatam 11.7.44]

"Unless human society accepts the dust of the divine lotus feet of a great maha-bhagavata, a pure devotee of Sri Krishna who has nothing to do with material possessions - nobody can turn their attention to the beautiful lotus feet of Krishna that vanquishes the unwanted miserable conditions of material life." [Srimad Bhagavatam 7.5.32]

"Oh my Lord! Transcendental poets and experts in spiritual science cannot fully express their indebtedness to You, even if they had the lifetime of Brahma, for You appear in two features externally as the acarya and internally as the Supersoul to deliver the conditioned souls by revealing to them Your devotional service and teaching them how to approach You on the path of pure bhakti." [Srimad Bhagavatam 11.29.6]

"Although I know my Guru is a servitor of Sri Caitanya, I know that he is a full manifestation (prakasa) of the Supreme Personality of Godhead Himself. According to sastra the Guru is non-different from Krishna, because it is through the Guru that Krishna bestows mercy on His devotees." [Sri Caitanya-caritamrta Adi-lila 1.44-45]

"Some practice but do not preach, others preach but do not practice, but one who is perfect in both preaching and practice is the Guru of the entire universe. You are a real jagad-guru, for you practice what you preach." [Sri Caitanya-caritamrta Antya-lila 4.102-103]

"An acarya is not one who only confers the sacred thread. He trains his disciples in sacrifice and teaches them the confidential meaning of the Vedas. Such a spiritual master is an acarya, according to saintly authorities." [Manu-samhita 2.140]

"If Krishna's mercy assumes a body and appears before us, that is Sri Guru. That is why Sri Guru is known as Krsna-krpa-sri-murti." [Sri Guru vandana, Srila Gour Govinda Swami]
